412 Daniel Serian Hi, I would like to say that the era of the NWOBHM was a great part of my life. Looking back, it was a magical and special time. I was in high school in Queens, New York at the time (1978-1981), and I was immediately hooked on the NWOBHM scene. Yeah, I remember the trendy disco people, and the punk and new wave kids, and thought they gotta go. There's no room for that stuff in this world. It was a great time, going to the record shoppes, and looking at all the great heavy metal stuff like albums, buttons, patches, and magazines. Long hair, denim, leather, and spiked wristbands. Oh yeah !!!!! I remember in 1980 cutting class to go and buy the Angel Witch album. I remember waiting at the bus stop holding the album in my hands and thinking this is too cool. I remember a tape someone made with bands like More, Money, EF Band, Vardis, and others on it. I wish I still had it. I remember playing Maiden's first two albums on a cassette radio in the back of the bus going home from school. And of course, my first concert ever - Iron Maiden and Judas Priest in 1981 in NYC. That was awesome. I regret not having any money to buy a tour shirt. I remember seeing a girl with a "On Through the Night" Def Leppard shirt. That's the only time I ever saw that shirt. Now, I am almost 44 years old, and I still remain an avid heavy metal fan. The NWOBHM just won't leave me. I got all my friends into metal at the time. I remember going to church with Iron Maiden's first album, and listening to the tape in the bathroom with some friends. I thought Paul DiAnno sounded like Gene Simmons. It was a great time because the NWOBHM was a continuation of the great '70's hard rock bands like UFO, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Nugent, Rainbow, etc…. It's good to see newer bands like Hammerfall, Dark Illusion, Wolf, etc... carrying on the metal tradition I grew up with. My regret in life was that I never got to go to England back then to see see these great NWOBHM bands. That would have been mind-blowing. Metal Rules !!!! Up the Irons !!! 410 Andy (Blackman) Campbell Like the previous Andy I can't believe I've only just found this site (thanks to Wilkipedia). Feels like I'm back home again and the World's fine. Many thanks to all of you I've known in the past at Kingsbury and then again at the Clay Pigeon. I have a confession, I was under 18 when the membership cards came in and had to get my next door neighbour to pretend to be me! You lot can't believe how much I miss you and the Bandwagon...did Townshends brother from 'Heroes' ever release Pat O'Keefe kept nicking his drink? Pat hope you and your brother are well....love to Angie..see the memories flood back..bye 29 March 2007
409 Jeff Can't believe it's taken me soooooo long to find this site! God bless Google! I just wondered if there was anyone out there who remembers the Electric Stadium round the back of the Greyhound in Chadwell Heath (now a Harvester - ahem!) I first saw Neal Kay there in the very early eighties when I was 17 or so. Then moved on to Oscars at the Green Gate (now a McDonalds - Oh God!)and finally ended up at the Kings (now an Aldi - aaaaaahhhgggggg!!!!) Can't remember Neal playing at the Kings for long? Remember the Bailey Brothers and the T.F.Much Roadshow, but The Soundhouse was always King for me. Whatever happened to Engine? I can still never hear the James Bond Theme without picturing them. Any old buggers or buggeresses (is that a word?) fancy chewing the cud, get in touch. Carry On Wayward Sons (and Daughters) - Jeff 27 February 2007

Anyway old friend, I will be over from the 18th for three weeks so will contact you once there!-Keep on Rockin and regards to your family. 404 Hugo Simões I'm very sorry for you people who, every year, wait for this Reunion to happen. I'm also sorry for my friend Neal, because I know he loves to do it. I just want to leave the idea here of a SoundHouse Gig in Portugal, Algarve. It could be done, the tickets are cheap, the weather is good, and we produce more beer in Portugal than you produce cars in England! 20 December 2006
403 Liz Woohooo Laura, me too!! Can't wait. Like Laura says, if there is anyone out there who used to frequent the ol' Soundhouse and is going to see Maiden on Friday, let us know and we can get together. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and has a Very Happy 2007. 20 December 2006

401 Webmaster We have recently received a request from VH1 in the U.S. requesting to use images contained within the website for their forthcoming documentary. All images are property of The Heavy Metal Soundhouse and its members; we are therefore posting this notice of intent for a week prior to authorising their use. Please contact us within a week of this post if you have any questions relating to the use of any images you may have posted on the site. Thank you. 17 May 2006
400 Alicia Hello Everyone, I was wondering if you could help me. I am part of a production team that is doing a documentary on the history of heavy metal and we are looking for some old Sounds magazines, and didn't know if any of you had any. We would really like to borrow them and then send them back to you. We are looking for the following: The two-page report about the Bandwagon appeared in Sounds issue dated August 19, 1978. The first NWOBHM articles would have appeared in the months after that, and throughout 1979. If you can help us, I would ask you to please forward answers and email addresses via the 'contact webmaster' form And I would just like to thank you in advance for any help you can give and for looking through some of your old magazines to give us a hand Alicia 13 March 2006
399 Andy Hello Neal and all, I have always wanted to try and track down Neal and just convey my thanks and memories from some of the best years of my life. For me it was attending the Royal Standard in Walthamstow on Satruday nights in the mid 80s. I did attend the Clay Pigeon as well from time to time, but for me it didn't have the magic of those nights at the Standard. My whole week used to be revolved around looking forward to my Saturday nights there. From the moment I started going I don't think I missed a week until the untimely demise when we just thought we were getting 3 weeks off for the pub to be redecorated! I was a badly dressed glam rocker I suppose with a penchant for Kiss. I always looked forward to the weekly airing of Detroit Rock City, knowing Neal wouldn't play anything else by them! I have to thank Neal for ingraining Magnum music into me. I wasn't a fan at the time but those wonderful songs have haunted me throughout the years and I have now dearly loved the band for some years. I trecked all the way over from the Bucks borders every week, jumping on the tube at Uxbridge and going all the way to Walthamstow. I remember taking selections of my glam records along (at Neal's encouragement) in order for him to give them a spin. It was through my records that we first got to hear Ratt and Motley Crue at the Standard. They must have been the most well travelled records in Britain! Great days, great people. Whatever happened to my mate Steve from Woodford? I remember others as well – Tig, Lorraine, Mad Kev, Nutty Kev etc. The pile ups of air guitar to Maiden - fantastic days and they still live on strongly in my mind today despite it all being 20 years ago. Cheers to all. 10 March 2006
398 Dustin Hello Soundhouse People Its been a long time..... I was a regular down the clay for quite some time and at one point was even on the crew for a bit. DJ Tuition from Neal and a bit of roadie-ing to boot till the clay closed its doors. If you are reading this, How are you Neal?? its been sometime!!! Do you still hear from Adey?. Last time I saw you It was in a boozer in Edgware where Adey was DJing... Sad news about The Rainers. Another pub bites the dust! Have you thought about the Kings Head, Harrow on the Hill. I have no idea what its upto now, last I heard it had lost its licence but that may have changed. I do remember it had a big ballroom upstairs.. I am still keeping the faith rock wise - check out www.thedonkeys.net Be good all.. Dustin, now living in Kent. Soundhouse regular 1988 - 1992 02 March 2006
397 Terry the Riot Fan After looking at the past few years reunion pics and trying unsuccessfully to recognise anyone (hair loss & weight gain have some connection here;-]), I wonder if these guys are still around. Lee, the drummer,(I remember Neal playing 'Always Tomorrow' & 'Another Time, Another Place'. Great stuff!) Alex, the Quo fan, Eileen, a real hottie, Clair, from Rayners Lane. I'm unable to attend the reunions as I'm now living in the Far East though I'll try harder for next one. Well, I'd just like to say a big thanks to Neal for influencing 99.9% of my CD collection. Neal, you still got a copy of the 'Love Times Love' demo by Heavy pettin'? (They suck I know but the demo was good). If so, stick it on the website so I can download it, cheers. 22 February 2006
396 Alessandro from the italian bunch ...2005 Soundhouse Reunion review on february issue of the italian magazine "Metal Maniac"...full page with a great photo of our hero Neal Kay... italians do what Classic Rock doesn't!!! ;-) write me for a scan in jpeg format 14 February 2006
395 Victor Kinnhammar Hello! I´m from Sweden and I was at the soundhouse-reunion 2003. That was one of the best nights of my life. I am 21 years old now so I was unfortunately not even born when Soundhouse was around the first time. Anyway,in my world soundhouse is what some people would call paradise. The new website is great and I really like the "Heavy Metal Chart"´s from Sounds. It´s a big inspiration when i record compilation tapes! I guess there is more charts available somewhere? I hope you put them up on the site if that´s the case. Hope to attend at the next reunion! Cheers! 09 February 2006
394 alessandro very sad news about the Rayners, we've just peed our territory in rayners Lane and they want to crash it down with a wreckin ball... :( 07 February 2006
393 Neal Kay Thanx, Twizzle and Liz for your ideas! Twizzle, it really is a nice thought, but totaly impractical!!! I will put out an"SOS" on my radio show with Malcolm at the end of the month,Liz, and we will see what is happening from there. Keep the ideas flowing guys, but in reality, what we obviously need is another venue, legally capable of handling at least 300+ 'till 1.30-2.00am, with our own door control, with a stage big enough to contain the lighting rig, gear and my ever-expanding waistline!!!!!!!!!! And most important of all, it HAS to be in the middle of our old heartland/operating areas of North West London. Anyway, that's about it for now people,so I am listening out! PS-Vicar, I know that you will see this post,so are you gonna come on the radio with me on the 25th February????.-Answer please to my E-Mail address!!!! Cheers buddy!-NK. 06 February 2006
392 Liz Sad day indeed. Here's a thought - how about putting out an appeal on Total Rock and/or Planet Rock to see if anyone knows of, or runs, a venue in the area? It's worth a try isn't it? 05 February 2006
391 Twizzel & Laura Ok here's another unlikely idea......How about a summer reunion down here in Cornwall??? We can hold it on the beach (Radio 1 roadshow style) That way, we can just crash where we fall!!!! (as long as the tide's out that is!) 05 February 2006
389 NEAL KAY Hi guys. Yep-I've been watching the sad news unfold just like the rest of you. I am waiting to talk to Gerry Kelly about all this, but he is away on business at the moment and is due back later this coming week. Although it is a great idea Herman, it will never happen!!! I mean-the thought of a Soundhouse gig in a nice quiet 3/4star hotel!! Christ man!!!! It was only a few years ago that we were all getting thrown OUT of such establishments, whilst on tour for just having LONG HAIR!!!!!! I understand fully about the art of Enforced Staggering Home Syndrome-I mean, who,(including myself on various occasions)hasn't found themselves "leaning on a lampost or convenient set of steps" after a night of Rock N'Roll debauchery-eh? Also, as one gets(?) older, the staggering distance is divided by a factor of at least three to the power of 1-ie you tend to fall over whilst exiting the venue!!!!!-Whether that is due to extreme old age or the effect of alcohol is debateable, but the overall result is the same-Oblivion!!!!!!Hence the need for a sanctuary of rest very close-by! Understood. However, I think it will be hard enough to find anywhere in this day and age with all the requirements, that understands us, operating within the law that, for example doesn't use monkey-suited, blue-tooth fitted Gorrillas for security, but will allow us to use our own! -and that's just the beginning!!!!!! All I can do is talk to Mr Kelly and see what can be done-but be warned, in our neck of the woods as it were, (and Central London is not an option), we must be very very limited. It is all about official door numbers allowed etc, if publican/venue mannagers will even entertain our kind of people and music!-it always was a struggle back then.Nowadays, they don't even know what a "Classic Rock crowd of 40+ years in age even means!!!!! Anyway, you all know that we will do the best that we can for you, and, by the way, please now upload to our site, your photos of our last reunion as everything is working fine again, thanks to the vigilance and effort of Webmaster-G-d Bless them!! I will be watching this space for your comments! Take care all. 04 February 2006
383 The German Don't need Cials nor Viagra thank you very much but a place to bang my head more often now that I'm into my second youth! F***ing bad new about the Rayners. Not quite loud enough (or maybe it's me going deaf) but never-the-less the place was pretty decent all the same. Yo TAFF! Was also a reg during your era but that was a few 'weeks' back and memory aint what ot used to be! I'm sure there'll be anouther reunion somewhere this year! SO COME ALONG AND ENJOY LIFE ONCE AGAIN! NEAL can you source a venue with a built in Hotel? For us piss heads when we is wrecked! 03 February 2006
377 Keith Newby Well , on that note the first thing that springs to mind is "thats a shit , where will we be this year !! " .(Neal , feeling rich enough to buy it ??) 01 February 2006
